The Little Mermaid recently celebrated its 25th anniversary, and while many of us no doubt look back on the Disney classic with nostalgia, this trailer does not.
That’s because it’s an honest trailer, where the hilarious folks at Screen Junkies break down the film and tell us what it’s really about if we’re being honest.

Under the sea … lies a "whimsically fascist" underwater kingdom where a "half-naked 15-year-old" sends an empowering message to the youth of America:
Be skinny, wear a strapless two-piece, snag the hottest guy and you’re good to go!
Like the Junkies’ previous honest trailers, it’s obviously easy to nit-pick and poke fun, but the genius is that behind each and every joke lies an element of truth.
Or several. We’ll bet there are a dozen things mentioned here you never noticed.
As for the song in which Ariel literally has no idea what random objects are, don’t even ask us what’s going on there. Just watch the trailer and laugh.
