Tess Holliday Says #EffYourBeautyStandards, Models Bikini Line

Back in January 2014, Cosmopolitan posted a photo of Robin Lawley and then came under fire for labeling the beauty as a "plus-size supermodel." Readers reacted in disgust that anyone would consider Lawley overweight in any way.

Back in January 2014, Cosmopolitan posted a photo of Robin Lawley and then came under fire for labeling the beauty as a "plus-size supermodel."

Readers reacted in disgust that anyone would consider Lawley overweight in any way.

But there’s no debate that Tess Holliday fits this description well, not even from Tess Holliday herself.

The definitive plus-size model is now a spokeswoman for the new bathing suit line, Sea by Monif C, and she’s proudly displaying her body on Instagram.

A Size 22, Holliday is the first woman her size to be hired by a major modeling agency (MiLk Model Management). She stands 5’5" and weighs 260 pounds.

“When I’m buying a swimsuit the thing that is most important to me is how I feel in it, if I feel good,” says the 29-year old, whose real name is Tess Munster, adding:

“It’s great to buy something that may look cute but I want to buy something that makes me feel sexy and I want to feel confident when I’m going out.”

Holliday, as you might expect, has faced some criticism over her chosen line of work, but she has started a simple viral movement/hashtag that sums up how she feels about these haters:

#EffYourBeautyStandards.
